Owner Packed Shipments:
For most countries a customer can elect to pack their own cartons although this should only be done once advice from your shipper has been taken. This is because in some countries owner packed shipments are frowned upon or just not permitted. Generally owner packed cartons attract more interest and scrutiny off customs for obvious reasons.
Packing your own effects can save money but should always be considered carefully as it will have an effrect on insurance cover.
Generally customers who pack themselves only really pack their own cartons leaving the mover to wrap furniture. Once again this option is open to the customer to do them selves. As with all things if care is taken and the correct materials are used the customer should be fine to do so (bearing in mind the change in insurance cover)
